Strictly 18+
Responsible play
Following the cricket should stay enjoyable. Here is how to keep it that way, and where to get help if it does not.
This site is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. Everything here is information and entertainment, never a guarantee of any outcome. Decide your limit before you start, treat it as the cost of an evening's entertainment, and never chase a loss. If it stops being fun, stop. Our responsible play page lists free, confidential support services.
Set your limits first
- Decide how much you are willing to spend before a match starts, not during one. A limit set mid-game is not a limit.
- Treat any money you stake as the cost of entertainment, in the same way you would a match ticket. If losing it would change your month, it is too much.
- Set a time limit as well as a money limit. Long sessions are where judgement goes.
- Never borrow to stake, and never stake money set aside for rent, fees, food or family.
Never chase a loss
Chasing is the single most reliable way a bad evening becomes a serious problem. The next market is not a way to fix the last one, and a run of results does not owe you a correction. If you find yourself staking more to recover what you have lost, stop for the night. The cricket will still be there tomorrow.
Warning signs
- You are staking more than you planned, more often than you planned.
- You are hiding how much you stake from people close to you.
- You feel anxious, low or irritable when you are not playing.
- You are borrowing money, or selling things, to keep playing.
- You have stopped enjoying it but you are still doing it.
- It is affecting your work, your studies, your sleep or your relationships.
